CARY INVITES RESIDENTS TO TOWN HALL ON WEDNESDAY FOR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS OPEN HOUSE

Town to fill 41 vacancies on 10 boards, including openings for ETJ & Morrisville residents CARY, NC – The Town of Cary is opening its doors on Wednesday evening, June 3 from 6:30 p.m. until 8: p.m. to area residents interested in applying for one of 41 openings on 10 volunteer boards and commissions; the open house will begin in the Council Chambers at Town Hall, 316 N. Academy St., followed by an opportunity for citizens to ask questions of representatives from each board. The boards and commissions were established to give citizens input into what happens in the community and to advise the Town Council on matters that affect citizens and their Town government. Applications are being accepted now through June 30 for appointments to the following boards and commissions: Economic Development Commission – 6 vacancies Environmental Advisory Board – 3 vacancies Information Services Advisory Board – 4 vacancies Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Resources Advisory Board – 4 vacancies Planning and Zoning Board – 3 vacancies Public Art Advisory Board – 7 vacancies Sister Cities Commission – 7 vacancies Town Center Review Commission – 3 vacancies Utility Board of Adjustment – 3 vacancies for Cary or Morrisville residents Zoning Board of Adjustment – 1 ETJ vacancy Residents living in Cary ’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) may apply for the one ETJ vacancy on the Zoning Board of Adjustment. Also because Cary provides water and sewer services to Morrisville, Morrisville residents may apply for one of three vacancies on the Utility Board of Adjustment.
